Chelmsford City Racecourse is delighted to partner with the Royal British Legion on Saturday 11th November for a special afternoon and evening of racing under the floodlights to mark Remembrance Day 2023. All profits made from General Admission tickets will be donated directly to the charity and the Poppy Appeal.
Jo Flaherty, Head of Charity and Community at Chelmsford City Racecourse has said “We are proud to be supporting our Armed Forces locally and further afield by giving them the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary raceday experience. I am looking forward to not only celebrating our Armed Forces but raising vital funds for the Royal British Legion as we continue with our ongoing commitment to engage with charities and the local community”.
Laura Gibbs, Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal Manager-Essex says, “We are delighted to be working with Chelmsford City Racecourse for Poppy Appeal this year.
We remember the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces, veterans, and their families from across Britain and the Commonwealth. The money raised will be used to help and support our Armed Forces Community.”
Chelmsford City Racecourse is looking forward to welcoming current and former service personnel and their families and racegoers for racing, a memorable wreath-laying ceremony, and an excellent performance from the Military Wive’s choir and live band, kindly sponsored by Lookers Ford.
Chelmsford City Racecourse is also delighted to welcome the Mayor of Chelmsford, Linda Mascot, and her consort, as guests of honour.
Past and present service personnel are invited to apply for two complimentary general admission tickets to thank them for their heroic actions and to enjoy an evening of racing. Under 18s attend free of charge, when accompanied by an adult who holds a complimentary or paid ticket.
