You will need to bring your individual e-tickets for admittance into the racecourse; these hold a barcode which needs to be scanned. This is then transferred for a swing ticket to allow entry on the day.
Ticket codes can be scanned from smartphone screens.
No, online ticket sales close 24 hours before racing starts. Tickets will be available for purchase on the gate depending on availability.
General entry tickets for weekday meetings begin at £17 on the gate, and for weekends £22. Online advance ticket sales received a £2 discount.
For parties of 11 adults or more will receive a 20% discount off their racing entry tickets. Discounts are only available online in advance. Discount will be automatically applied at the payment stage online. Please note, hospitality packages do not offer any group discounts.
If racing is abandoned prior to the first race, a full refund will be given. Prior to the third race, a 50% refund will be given. After the third race has been run, no refund will be given in respect of admission charges. Refunds are issued after the day of the event, tickets must be returned within 28 days of the event to the racecourse offices.
Unfortunately tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Children under the age of 18 are admitted free of charge but must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.*

Children under 18 are not allowed in the Club Restaurant. Everyone over 18 who are eating in the Club Restaurant must abide by the dress code. Children are permitted in the Fairwood Restaurant, and a specific Children's Menu. A discounted price is available for children.
All the package details which have been released are currently are listed on our website. Prices vary depending on the date and time of the meet.
General - Tailored shorts are acceptable for general admission only, but no shorts are to be worn within the hospitality areas. No sports shorts or flip flops are permitted, along with no team shirts. These conditions are subject to possible change in the future.
Club restaurant - Gentlemen are required to wear collared shirt, jacket and tie. If the appropriate clothing is not worn you will be asked to leave the enclosure.
Fairwood restaurant - Smart casual attire is acceptable, no trainers.
Sports bar - Casual wear is permitted.
We are happy to supply a menu on request.
The maximum table size in The Club is 8 people. The maximum table size in the Fairwood is 12. Please call the office for any additional requirements. We will do our best to accommodate your party.
We have The Grill serving fast food throughout racing, located at the far end of the Sports Bar. During summer racing and peak race meetings we have various food concessions outside serving the perfect racing fuel such as fish and chips, delicious wraps and more.
You can choose to eat at whatever time suits you, please speak with your hostess upon your arrival.
The restaurant will open 2 hours before the first race, and depending on how busy it is, may stay open until 1 hour after the last. On less busy days, this will close earlier.
No, we do not have any private boxes, although we can reserve an area for you. Please contact the office to receive additional details.
Chelmsford City Racecourse offers superb facilities for hospitality and dining. Although walk-in bookings are sometimes available, advance booking is highly recommended as we are generally fully-booked weeks prior to our peak race meetings.
All our restaurant packages in The Club & The Fairwood have racecourse entry included in the price.
At present there is no shuttle service. If you do travel to the racecourse using either the no. 70 or no. 352 bus to Gt Leighs, we will endeavour to arrange a collection. We recommend contacting the racecourse prior to your visit to arrange this.
Both Braintree (10 minutes away) and Chelmsford (15 minutes) Stations are suitable for the Racecourse.
Taxis are readily available from both sations.
There is a taxi pick-up point in the main car park although all taxi's must be pre-booked. There are many local taxi companies in both Braintree and Chelmsford who are happy to commute to the racecourse and are familiar with the layout.
We have a private Owners and Trainers Bar overlooking the parade ring, located on the first floor of the pavilion serving complimentary tea, coffee, hot food and sandwiches throughout racing.
We also offer discounted packages to all Owners and Trainers wishing to dine in our restaurants, please contact the sales team for further details and to make a booking.

You are not allowed to bring any food or drink onto the racecourse unless in the circumstance that specific dietary requirements are needed if these are not catered for at CCR. In this event, prior arrangements should be made with the racecourse.
Alcohol cannot be brought into the racecourse under any circumstances. If anyone is found to have alcohol on or about their person, it will be confiscated and they may be asked to leave the racecourse as a result. We operate a challenge 25 policy.

Yes, WIFI is available at CCR. This can be accessed on the “PUBLIC” network and no password is required.
Dogs are not permitted on the racecourse, with the exception of assistance dogs.
Free car and coach parking is available at Chelmsford City Racecourse.*
Follow signage to Chelmsford City Racecourse, the main car park is located off the A131 dual carriageway.
Taxi drop-off and pick-up is also available outside the ticket office and main entrance.
Accessible parking for blue badge holders is located nearest to the ticket office and main entrance and is subject to availability. Please have your blue badge clearly displayed at all times.

There are three methods of betting at CCR, fixed odds betting with Betfred, pool betting with the Totepool and the traditional ring bookmakers.
The duty betting ring manager changes from meeting to meeting. On a raceday they will be located in the small building at the end of the grandstand facing the betting ring.
The racecourse opens 2 hours before the first race.
Yes, however we do ask that fancy dress is appropriate to be seen by all ages and not discriminatory or likely to cause offence.
Yes, there is a cash machine at the racecourse. There is a charge for this service.
