Work morning with Godolphin
An insight into Godolphin’s recent work morning with trainer Charlie Appleby as he discusses the facilities of Chelmsford City Racecourse as he prepares for the UK flat season.
AW: Standard
Chelmsford City Racecourse works hard to provide the best possible experience for Owners and Trainers who attend. One of our core beliefs is to thank and reward those who make our sport happen.
Situated above the Winning Connections box overlooking the Parade Ring, our Owners and Trainers Bar is reserved exclusively for owners and all licensed trainers. We serve a complimentary welcome drink and light refreshments throughout the racing, the bar will remain open for one hour after the last race. Please be advised that tables cannot be reserved.
Since July 2019 we have also provided an additional facility for Owners and Trainers, adjacent to the Parade Ring. This single storey, glass-walled marquee and lawn is fully accessible and provides betting facilities, a bar and racing coverage.
Owners and Trainers with runners also have a dedicated viewing area next to the Fairwood Restaurant in the main Grandstand. This facility is easily reached from the Parade Ring, provides excellent viewing of the track and is fully wheelchair accessible.
The PASS system is in operation so that normal procedures apply for gaining access to the course. Please use the PASS website at www.rcapass.com to manage your badge allocation and the PASS concierge service. Owners badge requests will not be taken over the phone and must be made in writing, either by email or by using the PASS system.
Sole owners are allocated eight complimentary badges. Partnerships and syndicates are entitled to eight badges. In addition, extra badges may be purchased at 50%, but prior notice by calling the racecourse on 01245 360 300 for additional badges is always appreciated. Badges can be collected on the day from the Owners and Trainers desk at the main entrance, a PASS card will be required for proof of identification.
For additional badge requests please use the PASS online help desk services or email us direct on info@chelmsfordcityracecourse.com.
Our modern and quiet stableyard was built in 2007/08 to the very latest standards laid down by the British Horseracing Authority. We have 125 boxes located in a secure yard, with ample room for parking and a fantastic team on hand. Paper or shavings are available, though preferred bedding material cannot be guaranteed.
If you would like to know more information about our stables, please get in touch with our Stable Manager on 01245 363 975.
The racecourse is popular amongst trainers for galloping horses and we love being able to accommodate them. Our proximity to Newmarket makes us an ideal place to bring a team of horses as they prepare for big races and are now incorporated into many trainer’s programmes, especially when preparing to travel overseas.
Please get in touch with our Clerk of the Course, Andy Waitt, to learn more about availability on 07929 915731.
