Established in 2019, the Cardinal Stakes has become one of the highlights of our racing calendar and is Chelmsford City’s first premier race of the season.
The £100,000 spectacle is Europe’s second-most valuable Conditions race with an exciting international flavour that consistently attracted some of Europe’s top prospects as they embark on their three-year-old campaigns. Previously the finale of the European Kentucky Derby, the race has been established as a popular stepping stone for horses with global ambitions with recent competitors going on to win top-class races in Ireland, France, USA, UAE, Germany, Italy and Qatar!
