The best fireworks event in Essex returns for 2025, welcoming visitors from near and far for a spectacular fireworks display, funfair and entertainment on Sunday 2nd November. Tickets are on sale soon.

The Perfect Family Night Out

Join us in celebrating Bonfire Night for a fun-filled evening of dazzling fireworks, fantastic amusements, and delicious food and drink for all the family to enjoy. A fun family event for all!

Watch as the sky lights up to the sound of music, Chelmsford City Racecourse is renowned for its impressive annual displays, fair rides, street food, and bars with accompanying DJs.

All tickets must be purchased in advance, you don’t want to miss this! Children under the age of 3 go for free but need a ticket, and all children must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

Please note tickets are not available on the door on the day of the event

Choose between General Admission and VIP

General Admission tickets give entry to the racecourse to view the fireworks display and to the funfair and entertainment running alongside. In addition VIP tickets include access to the Summer Marquee, a covered area that includes unreserved seating, premium toilets, private bar and viewing terrace for the fireworks.

For both ticket types children under 3 years are FREE but must have a ticket prior to visiting. These can be purchased alongside adult and child tickets.

Is there parking on site?

Chelmsford City Racecourse offers free parking to all visitors. We also have disabled parking available for blue badge holders. Find all information on travel and how to find us here.

What time will the event start and finish?

Gates will open at 4pm with last entrance at 7pm. The fireworks display is scheduled to start at 7.30pm and our venue will close at 8.30pm.

Please note these times are estimates and are subject to change.

How much will the tickets cost?

General Admission tickets are £16 for adults and £9.50 for under 18’s.

VIP tickets are £25 for adults and £15 for under 18’s. VIP tickets include access to our covered Summer Marquee with unreserved seating, premium toilets, private bar, viewing terrace, and a glass of mulled wine or cup of hot chocolate per person on arrival.

Can I bring my own fireworks?

Bringing your own fireworks or sparklers is NOT permitted.

What shall I wear to the fireworks?

Dress appropriately for the fireworks display, subject to the weather forecast. We encourage visitors to wrap up warm and bring a coat, hat, and gloves for cold temperatures as well as appropriate footwear for example trainers or welly boots.
