Chelmsford City Racecourse moves into top ten courses in England and Wales for raceday experience

We are delighted to announce that Visit England and The RCA have recognised Chelmsford City Racecourse as one of the top 10 racecourses for raceday experience in 2023.

The Quality Assured Racecourse scheme was established in 2013 to assess raceday experience from the customers’ perspective objectively. Racecourses are scored on their customer experience including pre-raceday information, the on-course experience and post-raceday communications.

Out of a total of 59 racecourses in the UK, from as south as Newton Abbot in Devon to as far north as Perth in Scotland, we’re delighted to have been ranked in the top 10 racecourses along with Aintree, Beverley, Chester, Haydock Park, Ludlow, Newbury, Newmarket (Rowley Mile), Salisbury and York.

Racecourse director Neil Graham welcomed the award: “We’re working hard to provide a great visitor experience, and it’s terrific that this has been recognised. In the last couple of years, we’ve refurbished both our restaurants and aim to provide a great experience, quality, and value. We get a lot of positive feedback, and this award is more welcome recognition”.
