We want to provide our customers and supporters with an update regarding racing and upcoming events. Chelmsford City Racecourse remains without a licensed racing operator at the venue. This means racing at Chelmsford is currently unable to resume.
We are however committed to finding a long-term solution to bring racing back to Chelmsford and are reviewing the most suitable options; however, in the immediate future, the delivery of race fixtures remains on hold.
What this means for your booking
As a result, bookings for some upcoming fixtures and events are being cancelled. Affected customers will be contacted directly through email with confirmation and refund details.
We are also pausing ticket sales for all other events while we work to establish a long-term solution.
We apologise for the cancellations and refund delays customers have experienced. This unprecedented situation has removed the racecourse’s primary source of revenue while we process a very large number of refunds. While a significant proportion have been completed, not all have been processed as quickly as we would like. We understand your frustration and remain committed to fulfilling all refunds as promptly as possible.
The venue remains open
Chelmsford City Racecourse remains open as a venue, and we continue to host a large variety of corporate and private events, whilst we work to bring racing back to Chelmsford.
