Chelmsford City Racecourse was delighted to provide a launchpad for runners heading from France to the All-Weather Championships in Newcastle on Good Friday.
The quartet of horses arrived on Wednesday and stayed overnight in the racecourse stables, stretching their legs on the track on Thursday morning before continuing their journey north. A duo of contenders from Yann Barberot’s stable, Bouttemont and Charlesquint, were joined by the Nicolas Caullery trained Fort Payne and Implementation from Pia Brandt’s stable.
The four horses are set to run in the All-Weather Mile Championships and Betway All-Weather Sprint Championships, both worth £150,000 as well as the Betway Easter Classic All-Weather Middle Distance Championships Conditions Stakes worth £200,000.
