Chelmsford to Expand Barrier Trial Programme to Support Young Horses in 2024

In a significant move to support the development of young thoroughbreds, Chelmsford City Racecourse has announced the expansion of its barrier trial days, with five scheduled events set for 2024. This initiative follows a successful trial period in 2023 and aims to provide invaluable experience to young horses, introducing them to the racecourse environment and starting stalls under much less pressure than traditional racing scenarios.

Barrier trials are critical for equines, offering a serene environment where they can acclimatise and comprehend their training without the usual raceday stresses.
