Bananarama Headline Ladies Day 2023
Bananarama- the most successful female band of the 1980s- will be headlining Ladies Day live after racing at Chelmsford City Racecourse on Thursday 22nd of June 2023.
Bananarama, an English pop duo from London, are one of the most iconic acts of the 80s with top hits including “It Ain’t What you Do” (1982), “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” (1983) and a U.S. number one with a cover of “Venus” (1986 which was also a top-10 hit in the UK.
More recently Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward have celebrated the group’s 40th anniversary and released the album Masquerade in 2022.
James Hall, Head of Events at Chelmsford City Racecourse has said ‘We are excited to welcome, as our Ladies Day headline act, one of the world’s most successful female pop group, Bananarama. With 10 UK top Ten singles in the 80’s, including ‘Venus’, ‘Cruel Summer’ and ‘Love in the First Degree’ this will be a hit packed show guaranteed to keep you singing and dancing into the twilight hours.’
Dallin and Woodward’s friendship and fun underpins everything that Bananarama do Dallin says “from the age of 18 or 19, to be able to travel the world and write and perform music, it really has been incredible”.
General admission tickets start from £37per person. A limited number of hospitality packages remain, with prices starting from £125 per person.
