Eleven Elite Fillies Declared for Britain’s Richest Listed Flat Race

The stage is set for a glittering renewal of the bet365 Queen Charlotte Fillies’ Stakes, as eleven top-class runners have been declared for the eighth running of Chelmsford City Racecourse’s showpiece contest.
Worth a levelling £100,000, the Queen Charlotte Stakes is proudly named in honour of the historic Galleywood race and royally approved by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. First run in 2018, the race has become a target for some of the sport’s most celebrated fillies and mares, with former winners including 1000 Guineas heroine Billesdon Brook, and multiple Group 1 superstar Highfield Princess.
This year’s renewal, taking place at 8:00pm on Tuesday 1 July, features a truly exciting line-up of fillies and mares aged four and older – several of whom arrive with Listed or Royal Ascot credentials and Group ambitions.
Leading the declarations is the ultra-consistent Jabaara (rated 107), trained by Roger Varian and ridden by Silvestre De Sousa. A multiple Listed winner, she comes into the race in sparkling form after a victory in the Edinburgh Gin Queen of Scots Fillies’ Stakes, and a credible third in last year’s Chelmer Fillies’ Stakes despite a wide trip.
Standing firmly in her way is Cloud Cover (rated 103), trained by James Tate, who returns to familiar territory as the only course and distance winner in the field. Second in last year’s Queen Charlotte, she will be looking to go one better under Clifford Lee.
Adding further depth to the field are two runners from last year’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe-winning trainer Ralph Beckett. Stop the Cavalry (rated 104, Hector Crouch) and Fair Point (rated 102, Rossa Ryan) both bring strong credentials and represent serious threats to the market leaders.
Also among the leading contenders is Miss Information (rated 99), fresh from her impressive triumph in the Kensington Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. Trained by Andrew Balding, who trained 2024’s winner Vetiver, and ridden by Oisin Murphy, she brings big-race momentum and undeniable class.
From the inaugural winner Carolinae, to Highfield Princess, and last year’s impressive victor Vetiver, this is a race where legends are made — and 2025 promises to be no different.
