We’ve taken a significant step towards a greener future by partnering with ReFood’s innovative food waste recycling plant in Dagenham. This facility is a leader in turning food waste into renewable energy and biofertiliser through anaerobic digestion (AD), helping reduce the harmful impact of waste disposal on the environment.

The ReFood Dagenham plant uses AD to convert food waste into biogas, which is then transformed into electricity to power homes and businesses. Additionally, the nutrient-rich by-product of this process is used as a biofertiliser, closing the loop in an eco-friendly manner. By diverting food waste from landfills, ReFood significantly lowers greenhouse gas emissions, making it a crucial part of the UK’s sustainability efforts.
