Arriving To The Racecourse
Adults over the age of 18 must carry photographic identification when attending events and racing at Chelmsford City Racecourse. This is a condition of entry. Under 18s are not required to carry photographic identification, but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
We have a responsibility to keep our customers and our staff safe. Before entering the Ticket Office all customers will be subject to a bag search, and in some instances metal detectors. Once the bag search has been completed, customers will then be invited to enter the Ticket Office.
In the Ticket Office, all adults will be required to present their photographic identification to our security team who will verify your identity using a computer based photographic identification system. The only instances of the data being used, is as part of an investigation into any incident, or to respond to any request from Police. If you do not have photographic identification, our team may refuse entry to the racecourse.
We endeavour to check all of our patrons identification, but sometimes this is not possible, and in these instances we will operate a random check procedure.
Chelmsford City Council’s Women’s Safety Charter
Chelmsford City Racecourse is proud to announce that we have entered the Chelmsford City Council’s Women’s Safety Charter for our Ladies Day and Clockstock event.
This groundbreaking charter is linked to a wider programme of education that tackles behaviours that make women feel unsafe. Women’s Safety Charters are now used across towns and cities to provide a safer environment for women.
On departure from our events a team of volunteers, police officers and licensing officials will be on site and positioned within our car park ensuring that women get off our site in a secure and safe manner. They will have a rank of licensed Hackney taxis and will intervene if they see any vulnerable or harassed lady to ensure a safe exit. All Taxis will be checked to see if they are road worthy and legal to be on the roads to ensure the passengers get home safely.
