The Purchasing Process
- Ticket purchases are to be paid in full at time of booking
- Ticket prices are inclusive of VAT. The Racecourse reserves the right to charge VAT (or any other applicable tax or levy) on any other services supplied including sponsorship and corporate hospitality. Ticket prices, as of 1st August 2023, include a booking fee of 3%. In the event that the racecourse needs to cancel an event for any reason, this booking fee will be non-refundable.
- Payment will be made using a credit or debit card via the secure Sagepay online payment process. Upon payment the contract will be concluded
- You will receive confirmation of your order with an order reference number, this will also be given via email. Please retain the confirmation in case you have any further enquiries or in the event that you do not receive your tickets
- All ticket orders placed either online subject to Sagepay security checks. When an order is completed the contract is between the customer and Chelmsford City Racecourse. English is the only language used for conclusion of any contract on this Website. We cannot process advance bookings less than 24 hours prior to any meeting
When purchasing a ticket/or tickets via Chelmsford City Racecourse, over the telephone or online the following will apply:
- You must be at least 18 to book
- Badges/tickets will not be exchanged or money refunded unless a race meeting is abandoned
- We are unable to offer refunds or credits if you are no longer able to attend a raceday or event for any reason. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
In the event that a race is abandoned during racing, all tickets must be kept in their entirety for any refund claim. If racing is abandoned before the race meeting refund will automatically be made (excluding booking fee, please see here for more information). If for reason you don’t receive a refund then contact our sales team via info@chelmsfordcityracecourse.com or make an application in writing to Chelmsford City Racecourse, Chelmsford, Essex, CM3 1QP.
All tickets are sold subject to Chelmsford City Racecourse’s Terms and Conditions of Entry.
Betting Information
The betting sections of this web site are for information purposes only. In order to place a bet in the United Kingdom you must be at least 18.
Rules and Regulations

Gift Vouchers
Gift voucher are valid from the day of purchase, for a period of 12 months.
Gift voucher are valid at Chelmsford City Racecourse and can be used on admission and hospitality packages for Chelmsford City Racecourse racing and non-racing events. The vouchers cannot be used for events that are run in partnership with Clockwork Orange or other third parties. Please contact the ticket office if you have any questions about whether a voucher can be used towards admission or hospitality packages for a specific event.
If you wish to redeem a voucher, you must pre-book your experience by calling the ticket office on 01245 360300 or by emailing info@chelmsfordcityracecourse.com. You must quote your voucher reference when making your booking. Admission and hospitality packages are subject to availability. Events have their own terms and conditions, including dress code.
All vouchers feature a unique booking reference, may not be exchanged for cash and is non-refundable and transferable. Change will not begiven if the voucher is redeemed for goods or experiences less than its face value. The voucher can be split over multiple purchases so long as all purchases are made within the validity period.
