PUNTERS.AWARD.POPULARTo ensure a smooth journey, we recommend pre-booking taxis to and from the racecourse, especially on racedays when demand is high. The racecourse is about a 20-minute taxi ride from Chelmsford railway station and just 10 minutes from Braintree railway station. For air travelers, Stansted Airport is the closest connection, approximately 20 minutes away by taxi.
GET DIRECTIONSChelmsford City Racecourse operates a return bus service from Chelmsford for a select number of feature days during the summer. Details can be found here. There are two public buses from Chelmsford Bus Station, the No. 70 and No. 352 which run through Great Leighs and on to Braintree. The bus station is a short walk from Chelmsford Railway station. However, due to the nature of the busy A131 the racecourse does not recommend accessing the racecourse on foot from Great Leighs. The nearest train station is an 18 minute drive from the racecourse, please allow time for this.
