The Perfect Fireworks Night

Get ready for an unforgettable evening as Chelmsford City Racecourse comes alive with spectacular fireworks, thrilling fairground rides, mouth-watering street food, and music from our resident DJ.

Gates open at 4pm with music, amusements and rides all the family will love. Grab a hot drink, some tasty dinner and a toasted marshmallow from our street food village. Before the night sky explodes in colour and sound at 7.30pm, as the spectacular 20 minute fireworks display, set to music, steals the show.

This is the perfect fireworks event to spend with friends or family. Book now for a night to remember.

Please note, tickets must be purchased in advance – there will be no on-the-door sales. General admission tickets are outdoor tickets. Children under 3 can purchase a FREE child ticket when accompanied by an adult over 18. The fireworks display is scheduled to start at 7.30pm, with last entrance at 7pm. Our venue will close at 8.30pm.

Choose between General Admission and VIP

General Admission tickets give entry to the racecourse grounds to view the fireworks display and to the funfair and entertainment running alongside. In addition VIP tickets include access to the Summer Marquee, a covered area that includes unreserved seating, premium toilets, private bar and viewing terrace for the fireworks.

For both ticket types children under 3 years are FREE but must have a ticket prior to visiting. These can be purchased alongside adult and child tickets.

What time will the event start and finish?

Gates will open at 4pm with last entrance at 7pm. The fireworks display is scheduled to start at 7.30pm and our venue will close at 8.30pm.

Please note these times are estimates and are subject to change.

Is there parking on site?

Yes Chelmsford City Racecourse offers free parking to all visitors for fireworks. We also have disabled parking available for blue badge holders. Find all information on travel and how to find us here.

Can I walk to the venue?

There is one approved safe walking route that local residents can use. This is the public footpath from London Road next to the Lyndeswood Farm bus stop. This public footpath leads to a traffic light controlled pedestrian crossing over the A131, and enters the racecourse grounds.

Please do not attempt to walk to the venue using The Dog and Partridge underpass in Great Leighs, or by entering or crossing the A131 at any point other than the controlled pedestrian crossing.

Can I bring my own fireworks?

Bringing your own fireworks or sparklers is NOT permitted.

What shall I wear to the fireworks?

Dress appropriately for the fireworks display, subject to the weather forecast. We encourage visitors to wrap up warm and bring a coat, hat, and gloves for cold temperatures as well as appropriate footwear for example trainers or welly boots.
