Key Responsibilities
Course Preparation & Turf Management
- Lead and support the delivery of a planned and preventative maintenance programme for the racing surface and associated areas.
- Conduct regular, detailed course inspections and ground assessments to monitor conditions and identify required works, recommending improvements where necessary.
- Assist in preparing the course to meet regulatory, safety, and racing standards consistently.
- Operate and maintain irrigation and watering systems to ensure optimum turf quality and performance.
- Deliver seasonal turf treatment programmes including aeration, fertilisation, overseeding, and drainage management to enhance surface integrity and consistency.
- Support the Head Grounds Person in ensuring long-term turf health through sustainable agronomic practices.
Grounds & Landscape Maintenance
- Maintain and enhance lawned areas, parade rings, and presentation areas to raceday standard and beyond.
