PERmanent OPPORTUNITIES

MARKETING EXECUTIVE

Reporting to:        Senior Commercial Executive

Contract Type:     Permanent

Hours of Work:    40 hours per week

                              (Whilst the office hours are 8.30am - 5.30pm, there is a requirement for                  

                              flexibility of working hours, as on occasion the post holder will be required             

                              to work weekends, public holidays, and evenings to meet the needs of the

                              business)

Place of Work:     Chelmsford City Racecourse

Salary:                   circa £24,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience

 

We are currently seeking a Marketing Executive to develop and maximise the marketing and promotional structure employed by the racecourse across all media and channels.

The post holder will adopt a pro-active approach to identify relevant media opportunities; they will also have the overall responsibility to ensure that CCR brand guidelines are adhered to and that all media messages communicated effectively.

 

The successful candidate will need to have:

  • experience within a full mixed marketing position, ideally an already established Marketing Executive.
  • a general aptitude for marketing and ability to demonstrate creativity.
  • sound working knowledge, interest in and understanding of racing and betting industries
  • excellent numeric and literacy standards, with good analytical skills.
  • excellent communication skills with a natural ability to deal with key internal and external decision makers.
  • the ability to work to rigid time constraints and under pressure.
  • strong IT skills and systems experience.
  • practical working knowledge and effective use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • knowledge of photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop.

They will also need to be:

  • highly organised, with a precise attention to detail.
  • a personable team player, with good negotiation skills.
  • dynamic, positive, confident and an enthusiastic self-starter.
  • highly motivated and able to motivate others.
  • able to multi-task and work independently.
  • a practical, proactive hands-on influencer with a commitment to providing an excellent customer service.
  • a flexible and adaptable approach.

Raceday Stewards, including Horse Racing Integrity Stewards

We are looking for casual raceday stewards who are keen to make a customer’s day feel special and who are able to deliver excellent customer service with the ability to make the entire experience enjoyable. Candidates must be hard working, motivated, punctual, polite and enthusiastic.

You will need to provide a safe, friendly environment for all of our customers whilst delivering an efficient and energetic service. You will be the face of the company and the first point of contact for our guests.

Applications are welcome from those with experience of working in busy environments with the correct attitude towards customer service and the desire to achieve.  Experience of working within a horse related environment would also be beneficial.

Shifts are typically between 6-8 hours with extended shifts on feature days and concerts. Excellent rate of pay.  Full training will be provided.

 

Bar Staff

We are currently seeking casual bar staff to cover Racing and Non-Racing Events.  Previous experience is essential.

Applicants must possess the ability to work on own initiative, be able to deliver excellent customer service and be well presented.  Excellent rate of pay. 

 

Waiting Staff (specifically for our Club Restaurant)

We are currently seeking casual waiting staff, specifically for working in our Club Restaurant.  The Club Restaurant provides exclusive dining with a members' club atmosphere and VIP treatment, so previous experience is essential.  Applicants must be able to deliver excellent customer service and be well presented.
